ஒபாமாவுக்கு வைகோ வேண்டுகோள்

அமெரிக்க குடியரசுத் தலைவர் பாரக் ஒபாமா அவர்களுக்கு ம.தி.மு.க. பொதுச் செயலாளர் வைகோ அவர்கள் இன்று எழுதியுள்ள மின் அஞ்சல்:

அமெரிக்க குடியரசுத் தலைவர் மாண்புமிகு பாரக் ஒபாமா அவர்களுக்கு வணக்கம்.

இந்தியாவிலும், உலகம் முழுமையும் வாழ்கின்ற பத்து கோடி தமிழர்கள் சார்பிலும் இலங்கையின் சிங்கள இனவெறி அரசின் தலைவர் மகிந்த ராஜபக்சே இலங்கைத்தீவில் வாழ்கின்ற தமிழர்களை இனப்படுகொலை செய்து வருவதை இரத்தம் கசியும் இதயத்தோடு தங்கள் கவனத்திற்குக் கொண்டு வருவதுடன் இலங்கையில் வாழும் தமிழர்களைப் பாதுகாக்கக்கோரி இந்த விண்ணப்பத்தை தங்களுக்கு சமர்ப்பிக்கின்றோம். கடந்த 30 ஆண்டுகளில் ஒரு இலட்சம் தமிழர்கள் இலங்கைத் தீவில் இலங்கை அரசின் இராணுவத் தாக்குதல்களினால் படுகொலை செய்யப்பட்டு உள்ளனர்.
தொன்றுதொட்டு வாழ்ந்து வந்த பத்து இலட்சம் தமிழர்கள் தங்களது தாயகமண்ணை விட்டு துரத்தி அடிக்கப்பட்டு உள்ளனர்.

இப்போது இலங்கையின் முல்லைத் தீவில் மூன்றரை இலட்சம் தமிழர்கள் உணவும் மருந்தும் இன்றி சிக்கித் தவிக்கின்றனர். அவர்கள்மீது இலங்கை விமானப்படை சரமாரியாகக் குண்டுகளை வீசி கொத்து கொத்தாக படுகொலை செய்து வருகிறது.

இலங்கை அரசின் இத்தகைய இனப்படுகொலைத் தாக்குதல்களை எதிர்த்துத்தான் விடுதலைப் புலிகள் ஆயுதப் போராட்டத்தை நடத்தி வருகின்றனர்.

உலகின் தொன்மையான பழங்குடி இனங்களுள் ஒன்றான தமிழர்களாகிய நாங்கள், அமெரிக்க அரசு மனிதாபிமான நோக்கோடு இலங்கைப் போரைத் தடுத்து நிறுத்துவதற்கு மேற்கொண்டுள்ள முயற்சிகளுக்கு நெஞ்சார்ந்த நன்றியைத் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறோம்.

விடுதலைப்புலிகள் இயக்கம் 2001 ஆம் ஆண்டு கிறிÞதுமÞ பண்டிகையை முன்னிட்டு தாங்களாகவே முன்வந்து போர்நிறுத்தத்தை அறிவித்தனர். உலக நாடுகள் கொடுத்த அழுத்தத்தால் வேறுவழியின்றி இலங்கை அரசும் போர்நிறுத்தத்தை அறிவித்தது. பின்னர் அந்தப் போர்நிறுத்தத்தை இலங்கை அரசுதான் முறித்துக் கொண்டு படுகொலை தாக்குதல்களை இன்றுவரை தொடர்கிறது.

கடந்த 2008 ஆம் ஆண்டிலும் விடுதலைப் புலிகள் இயக்கம் போர்நிறுத்தத்தை அறிவித்த போதும் இலங்கை அரசு அதை ஏற்கவில்லை. இப்போதும் தாங்கள் விடுத்த கோரிக்கையை ஏற்று விடுதலைப்புலிகள் இயக்கம் உடனடியாக நேற்று (26.4.2009) போர் நிறுத்தத்தை அறிவித்து உள்ளனர். ஆனால், இலங்கை அரசு அதையும் ஏற்கவில்லை.

இலங்கைத் தமிழர்கள் படுகொலை குறித்து 1995 ஆம் ஆண்டு அப்போதைய அமெரிக்க குடியரசுத் தலைவர் பில்கிளிண்டன் அவர்களுக்கு நான் கோரிக்கை விண்ணப்பம் அளித்து இருந்தேன். அதை அவர் ஏற்றுக் கொண்டு எனக்குக் கடிதம் எழுதியுள்ளார்.

தங்களுக்கும் இப்பிரச்சனை குறித்து நான் விண்ணப்பங்கள் கொடுத்து உள்ளேன். நெருக்கடியான இவ்வேளையில் தமிழர்களின் நம்பிக்கை ஒளிக்கீற்றாக தாங்கள் திகழ்கிறீர்கள். இலங்கையில் வாழும் தமிழ் இனப் படுகொலையைத் தடுத்து நிறுத்தி அவர்களைப் பாதுகாக்கத் தாங்கள் மேற்கொண்டுள்ள முயற்சிகளுக்கு நாங்களும் எங்கள் தலைமுறையினரும் நன்றியோடு இருப்போம்..

Dear Mr President Barack Obama,

Vanakkam.

Hundred million Tamils of Tamilnadu, India and all over the world hereby express their anguished cry of bleeding hearts to you, to protect and save the lives of Tamils in the Island of Sri Lanka, where the racist government of Mr Mahinda Rajapakse has launched its genocidal war, annihilating and decimating the Tamils.

About one hundred thousand Tamils have been killed by the murderous attacks of the Sri Lankan military in the past three decades.

One million Tamils have been uprooted from their traditional homes.

At present, three hundred and fifty thousand Tamils are suffering in Mullaitheevu, without food and medicines and mercilessly killed by shelling and aerial bombing.

The armed struggle of LTTE (Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam), was thrust upon them by the brutal genocide perpetrated by the Sri Lankan Government.

One of the ancient race on the earth, we, the Tamils convey our hearty gratitude to you, for the earnest efforts, taken by the US Government, to stop the war on humanitarian grounds.

The LTTE unilaterally declared ceasefire on the eve of Christmas in 2001, which had to be responded by the Sri Lankan Government, due to international pressure.

The Srilankan Government broke the Ceasefire agreement on their own and are continuing their ethnic cleansing war on Tamils.

Even now, the LTTE had declared ceasefire in 2008, which was not responded by the Sri Lankan Government.

Adhering to your call to end the hostilities, the LTTE once again declared ceasefire yesterday. (26.4.2009).Srilankan Govt rejected your call and are continuing their Genocidal attack.

In 1995, I had sent representations of the Tamil ethnic crisis to the then US President Mr. Bill Clinton, which was acknowledged by him.

I have sent representations to you, expressing the heart piercing terrible tragedy of Tamils.

At this grave hour of catastrophy, you are the only hope for us, who can effectively intervene to stop the genocidal war of Sri Lanka and save our Tamils, for which we and our posterity will be ever grateful to you.
